On January 12th 2012 Niels Greidanus, CEO of The Patient Safety Company, proudly represented his company at the roundtable discussion with Dutch Minister of Health, Edith Schippers. Healthcare industry leaders discussed 'Innovative Healthcare Models and the Role of Information Technology'.
The Netherlands Consulate General invited experts from the fields of health care, IT, insurance and government to explore how the intersection of information science and technology can be applied to innovative health care models. Hospitals, health systems, medical clinics and other health providers across the spectrum are increasingly faced with the challenge of being more (cost)-efficient while delivering better patient care. The Patient Safety Company's new TPSC Cloud™ and main focus is all about this challenge.
The special guest, Dutch Minister of Health Edith Schippers, actively participated in the discussion by giving her opinion and valuable insights. After her visit to the USA she believes that innovation does not always have to lead to rising costs. Schippers: "It is crystal clear that solutions must be provided in the collaboration between the healthcare sector, science and commercial businesses. If these stakeholders are able to work closely together, quality of care will be improved while reducing costs"*.
Niels is very proud to have been part of the discussion with top management form the Dutch Ministry of Health, The Netherlands Consulate, Kaiser Permanente, Microsoft, University of Alabama, Cisco Systems, Philips, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Biogen Idec, Pfizer, GSKGlaxoSmithKline and the Office for Science and Technology of the Netherlands Consulate. He states that his participation has broadened his knowledge and insights, which he will transform to even better solutions for customers of TPSC.
