The IMS is the core of a total Clinical Risk Management System. It’s designed to make reports about (near) incidents, give feedback to reporters and managers and enables the administrator to create the reports for management and other stakeholders.
The IMS is a standard piece of software that gets tailored to your particular requirements. We help you define the questions in the forms, who gets to see the reports and how the management ‘dashboard’ will look. In fact we help you design the whole ‘back office’. If this calibration process sounds complex, then don’t worry; it’s a straightforward customization procedure which can easily be carried out by yourselves if you prefer. In any case, our consultants will be there to help you get started and make the most of your system.

Reporting an incident in the Incident Management System (IMS)
The Incident Management System provides feedback, learning effects and comprehensive management information. It also stimulates the readiness of staff to report incidents within an organization. This widespread ‘buy-in’ gives administrators a safety improvement tool they can rely on and measure.
Each designated member of staff logs in to the IMS to report an incident, or to check on progress of an existing incident. Your staff will find it intuitive to use, especially with our question ‘wizard’ which makes filling in an incident form quick and easy.
Simply because it is so easy to use, don’t be surprised if you register up to five times more incidents than in an off-line system!
The resulting data enables you to create your own reports in whichever way you prefer. The data can be analysed with our analysis modules (see the CRMS diagram) and they can also be used for management of improvement activities by using the Quality Improvement Module. The IMS can also be used to do other kinds of reporting on, for instance: complaints, surveys, aggression reports, employee accidents and so on. The IMS will become the window on how your organization operates and the dashboard function will enable you to steer and manage improvements to your patient safety.
